Strong (and completely uncompensated) recommendation for the free mIQ service brought to you by Best Buy Mobile.  I began using this service during the beta period and it is terrific.  Snap a picture on your phone and its is automatically sent wirelessly to their online service.  You can manage your phone content online, including contacts and calendar.  Also, you can type out a text message to send from your phone.  You basically have your entire phone backed up over-the-air, minus apps.

The mIQ online interface is intuitive and easy to use.  In order to sync your phone, you need to install a small app on your phone.  It does not seem to cause any lag on the Blackberry Tour.  I did find that my initial sync took about 20 minutes but going forward the app ran in the background and worked perfectly.

If you are already syncing your contacts and calendar with Google via Google Sync, you might want to consider both online backups.  On my phone, I had no problem syncing to both mIQ and Google.  The mIQ site adds many features that the Google Sync application does not, including the online backup of photos.

What’s in it for Best Buy?  They run some unobtrusive advertising for products (mostly accessories to your phone) on the web page interface.  They probably also expect you to buy your next phone from Best Buy.  This is a free service and I highly recommend it.  Check your phone compatibility and sign up at http://miqlive.com.
