CaptureWhere’s My Blackberry has begun a limited public beta period. The app helps you recover a lost Blackberry through some unique methods, described below.

The WMBB app monitors your e-mail accounts that feed to the Blackberry.  You designate a secret passcode.  If you email the passcode and a command to the Blackberry, the app triggers a function.  The functions include locate by GPS with a map, place a call to you and a unique lock and alert that rings loud (even if your ringer is silenced) and asks the person who found it to return the call to a number you specify.

After the beta period expires, there will be a free (lite) version and a full version of the app.  You can download the app by pointing your Blackberry browser to http://wheresmyblackberry.com/beta.

Bottom line: Don’t lose your Blackberry.  If you do, you’ll be thankful you have this app.
