operaToday Opera Software released Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 for public beta testing. In all candor, this release is buggy and not worth your time.  Stick with BOLT Browser 1.5.  If you are a Opera Mini fan, stick with Beta 1.

I installed Beta 2 with hesitation after reading at Crackberry that the trackpad/trackball clicks were not registering properly. I had the program completely freeze on me and even an alt-shift-delete would not reset my Blackberry. I pulled the battery and started over. Again, I found Beta 2 unresponsive and OS 5.0 killed the process.

On a positive note, Beta 2 does not “take over” the RIM browser. When you click a link in Ubertwitter or in an email, the RIM browser loads.

Save yourself a headache and wait for the next release.
