alltopI hadn’t heard of Alltop until I started following Guy Kawasaki on Twitter. He’s one of the founders of Alltop, a venture capitalist and a former Apple employee who was responsible for marketing the Macintosh. Anyhow, back to the point… Alltop is an online magazine rack of sorts. It’s an aggregator for RSS feeds. It has many of the most popular RSS feeds and you can navigate the Alltop site by category… like a magazine rack. It shows the last five headlines from each source and a mouse-over will display a preview of the article. A click will take you directly to the article. So… why is this hot?

  • It’s RSS for dummies. You don’t need to know how to use an RSS reader.
  • Alltop has a terrific interface, especially the preview feature. You won’t be overwhelmed with a boring list of headlines like you might see in an RSS reader.
  • Content discovery. You might find sources of information that you didn’t even know existed. Carrying on with the magazine rack analogy… this is exactly why many people browse them… to find new, interesting sources of information.

It makes browsing the blogosphere easy by aggregating RSS feeds. Head over and check out the magazine rack at Alltop.com. It’s free.
