The “Notion Ink SmartPad,” pictured right, blurs the line between eReader, netbook and smartphone. The image to the right is a mock-up from Notion and a reliable spec sheet has leaked online. The Notion Ink SmartPad features:
- 10.1″ touchscreen (1024 x 600) and Google’s Android OS (unclear which version) (As an aside, it would be nifty if this SmartPad could do multi-touch like the Motorola Milestone and modded Droids.)
- first Pixel Qi Screen (emmitive LCD screen to a reflective e-ink screen with a button click)
- nVidia TEGRA T20 (ARM Processor/8 Cores)
- 1080p video playback (HDMI output)
- impressive battery: up to 8 hours of HD video playback, 16 hours of internet use or 48 hours of standby
- 9.8″ x 6.3″ x 0.6″ and 1.7 lbs
- 16 GB or 32 GB models with expansion by SD card
Other features include wifi b/g, bluetooth 2.1, triband UMTS/HSDPA, GPS, 3MP camera with video recording, accelerometer, digital compass, water, ambient light and proximity sensors.
This tablet is “way cool” but speculation is that this device will be very expensive. It may debut at the CES 2010.
