Engadget is the first outlet to review the upcoming Google Nexus One phone that will debut in two days. The review is fairly comprehensive. It includes picture and video.  Of course, the review attempts to answer the most pressing question: “is this the be-all-end-all Android phone / iPhone eviscerator? In two words: not really.” Below is a summary of current rumors about the device:

  • It will be available online at http://www.google.com/phone (not active yet) and at T-Mobile stores.
  • The Nexus One will be priced reasonably at $530 unsubsidized and unlocked or $180 on T-Mobile with a 2 year service contract. One rate plan with T-Mobile will be $79.99 per month for 500 voice minutes and unlimited data and texting. [via Gizmodo]
  • An AT&T’s friendly version of the device might be released. [via  BGR]

I’m curious what information the QR Codes on the back of the phone encrypts. None of the shots online are clear enough to scan the codes. Maybe it’s simply www.google.com.  If anyone knows, please post it or e-mail it to me at info@tbottle.com.
