I’m behind in my RSS reading but I’m slowly catching up on it. A few stories have caught my eye so far…
1. FBI completely F’s up the age progression of Osama Bin Laden assignment. That’s not to say that the results may not be accurate but they admitted to Photoshopping features from a Spanish politician they found using Google’s image search. It’s a good read over on Tech Crunch:

2. There’s rampant speculation that the New York Times online will begin charging for access. This isn’t exactly shocking but apparently the tech world believes that they’re timing the pay service to coincide with the launch of the Apple tablet. Can the unveiling of the tablet drive enough traffic for this to be the case? Do they have an interview with Steve Jobs lined up?
3. The Blackberry Tour 2 is about to be unveiled. Corrections to the two biggest problems (defects?) appear in the Tour 2 — an optical trackpad instead of the trackball and a better OS that won’t crash upon an app install. Also, Wifi and a faster processor were added.
4. On a somewhat related note, Blackberry may not get destroyed by Android as fast as some predictions. Apparently, the Motorola Droid (Android 2.0) has a universal unlock pattern, severely compromising security. This is great news for RIM because Blackberrys could remain popular with those requiring high levels of security.
5. Upon its release by Vodaphone UK, 50,000+ iPhones were sold in one day.
6. The laziest blog update ever was just posted.
