It’s been a long while since I last blogged about a phone but this one is worth a post on every tech blog. Samsung might hit it out of the ballpark with the Halo i8520. Here are the specs:
- 3.7″ WVGA Super AMOLED
- 8 mp camera with flash
- 4 gb ROM
- 3 gb RAM (triple most netbooks)
- 16 gb MoviNAND
- 1,800 mAh battery
- TouchWiz 3 skin over Android 2.1
- Pico DLP Projector [Update: this detail comes via Engadget]
This phone is a ridiculously potent. I could not find specs on the processor but expect at least a 1 Ghz snapdragon, maybe more.
The only two things I can think of that would make this phone the uberphone are dual cameras (one forward for videoconferencing/skyping) and an RFID reader (which the upcoming iPhone may have).
Samsung is putting its name on the map for high end devices with the Halo i8520.
