Microsoft sent out cryptic invitations to an event on April 12th to unveil an unidentified product. Sounds very Appleish? The cat’s out of the bag, according to Ina Fried at News.com. She’s reporting that the Microsoft-Sharp Project Pink phones will be unveiled. These phones, both heading to Verizon, are codenamed “Turtle” and “Pure.” Not much is known about these phones other than they could have Microsoft Zune-like music software. What about Windows Phone 7 software (formerly known as Windows Phone 7 Series or was it Windows Phone Series 7)? Will they support apps? It looks like we’ll have to wait for Engadget.com or Gizmodo.com to report on the phones and why they were kept as closely guarded secrets. Maybe we’ll be bedazzled in Apple-like fashion.

Pictured below are “Turtle” and “Pure.” I’ll let you guess which is which. Images from Gizmodo.com.
